Using a macro lens, I take tons of photos of text from poetry books, particularly lines that stand out to me, either for their meaning or clever use of words. I place them together into new poetry remixes that I think of as akin to the mixtapes one might get from a friend or from an emerging musical artist’s trunk. Poet Geoffrey O’Brien describes mixtapes as “perhaps the most widely practiced American art form”.
